Wow, It's been over a month.

​HELLO EVERYBODY!!! How are you? I hope your Halloween and Veteran’s Day all went well. If you decided to participate in Hallelujah night, I pray that you got your praise on for the Lord and had a great time in fellowship with your church folk. My Halloween was great since my birthday is LITERALLY the next day. So, yes, The Lupie Girl has officially turned TWENTY-FINE! Yes. Now that I am 25, I believe that is when some things truly get real. I am a “real adult” now. When I turn 30, Oh boy, I will be a “forever adult”, LOL.
  Well it has been a while (AGAIN) since I the last time I wrote. So much has happened and I believe it is only right to not leave you all hanging and give you the 4-1-1. So, first things first. If you didn’t know or forgot, I have been listed at not ONE, but TWO different hospitals. What makes it so much sweeter is the fact that they were my two top picks for hospitals where I wanted to receive my transplant. I have been listed at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida AND I have been listed at the Florida Hospital (Transplant Institute) in Orlando, Florida. Orlando was in fact my first choice and it was the first hospital I was listed at. *PRAISE BREAK*
                   How do I feel about it?
I feel…somewhat accomplished—if that makes any sense. This month (November) makes SEVEN MONTHS since I began dialysis and to be listed at TWO different hospitals before the year closed out gave me encouragement, believe it or not. I feel hopeful and I truly believe that God WILL bless me. How? I have NO clue but, I will allow him to do that part.

Dialysis now is…Dialysis. I think the most aggy part about it, TO ME, is putting it together. It takes me about 15 to 20 minutes to set my machine up before I even hook myself up for the 9 hours of captivity. Other than that I have been ok. I have had some fluid retention but I am working on getting that down. I take a few more medicines than I was taking a while back. I take:
 Plaquenil or Hydroxychloroquine -  99% of Lupies take this drug.
Calcium Acetate- I call them binders. I take them due to the fact that because I am on dialysis, my body has a hard removing the phosphate from my body. So I have to take this EVERY time I eat ANYTHING!

Doxercalciferol- to control my PTH (Parathyroid Hormone) levels and make sure they don’t elevate because my dialysis has caused it to elevate.

Renal Caps- it prevents vitamin deficiency due to my illness.

Potassium Caps- I need potassium. Dialysis pulls all of it.

Pepcid- I get nauseous from time to time.

Percocet- I HAVE to have my Percocet for pain!

Last but NOT least…
 
PREDNISONE- it’s a steroid that treats the inflammation caused by Lupus. However, I don’t take them because of the side effects. I can’t afford to gain weight by any means!
