We TURNED LUPUS INTO LEMONADE!
The 3rd Annual Lupus Awareness Brunch, "Turning Lupus into Lemonade", hosted by The LupieGirl was a resounding success! With a turnout of over 50 attendees, the event featured moving testimonials, acknowledgment of two outstanding individuals at the forefront of the Lupus battle, and insights from the esteemed Dr. Avis S. Brown regarding Lupus symptoms and self-care strategies for those living with the condition.
Brieana Salter, the Founder and President of The LupieGirl, Inc., delivered a poignant address, providing updates on the organization's endeavors while also paying tribute to both fighters and those who have succumbed to Lupus. As a parting gesture, attendees were treated to refreshing lemonade courtesy of Rell-Brook, owned by Janese McCutchen, the first recipient of the Lupie Legacy.
Adding to the event's significance, The LupieGirl received a proclamation from the City of Boynton Beach, designating May as Lupus Awareness Month. This proclamation, presented during the brunch held annually in Boynton Beach, serves as a testament to the city's commitment to raising awareness about Lupus and its impact on the community.
The LupieGirl extends heartfelt gratitude to District 1 Commissioner Angela Cruz and Boynton Beach Mayor Ty Penserga for their unwavering support in recognizing the significance of Lupus awareness within the community.
We are excited for our 4th Annual Lupus Awareness Brunch, where again,
we will Turn Lupus into Lemonade!
